What constitutes an emergency? If your pet is bleeding, having trouble breathing, cannot walk or put any weight on a leg, has been hit by a car, has fallen from a tall height, is unconscious, has a seizure or fainting episode, vomits repeatedly or has the dry heaves, has a bloated or distended abdomen, eats something poisonous, chews up something dangerous, has an eye injury or cannot open an eye, cannot urinate or defecate, or has hard labor longer than a half hour. If you are not sure if your pet has an emergency, call us (636-757-7350) and a staff person will assist you in deciding. (National Poison Control: 1-888-426-4435)
